Shake it like a polaroid picture

Hello sweet peas,

Even though Outkast tells you to shake it: Polaroid pictures come out better if you leave them to develop without your help. For Christmas I received a Fuji Film Instax Mini 8 which was not only a surprise but also super cool. It is basically a 21st century Polaroid camera which is awesome because last summer, I lived off disposable cameras at festivals and holidays. I love taking photos even though I do not have a photographer’s eye. I just enjoy taking photos of the moment surrounded by the people I love and especially when we’re having a good time. One of the best things about Polaroid photos is that you only get one take. Nowadays it is so easy to take a photo on your phone or camera and if you don’t like it, just delete it and take another. Whereas disposables and Polaroids have limited film therefore fingers crossed and smile! People are always intrigued when I whip my camera out and usually are in awe when the photo prints out straightaway, it is really cool. I find it funniest when I ask a complete stranger to take a photo of me and whoever because I just hand over this odd device and suddenly a bright flash and a photo appears. I am always careful over how many photos I take because they are limited and I am on a student budget however I manage to capture fun shots. I have already gone through two packets of film since Christmas so I thought I’d share with you all the fun captured on my camera.

I am really excited for this summer to take lots of photos and make memories. One thing I am super ecstatic about is my boyfriend Jordan and I are going on a two week road trip around Morocco in July! He is a really good photographer with a proper camera and he is going to teach me some techniques which I will use on my own blog. I can’t wait to write daily blogs of my two week adventure especially because my ultimate aim after univeristy is to transform my blog into a travel blog. This holiday will be practise for the future, I hope.

Keep smiling,

Love Poppy x

I’ve thought about getting one of these for scrap booking vacations while on vacation. Looks like I need to add it to my Amazon wish list as an idea for a gift!
